Ordered by my Dad’s friend unpainted, he painted it himself and gave it to Dad, along with 3 others, and he enjoyed the heck out of ’em until his passing. Step into Victorian England through the Dept 56 Dickens Village Series. Charles Dickens, the famous English novelist, played a role in the English culture during this period, inspiring much of the world. Many of our Christmas traditions came from this time period. Several of the pieces correlate with his novels such as A Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist, David Copperfield and others. The Dickens Village is a beautiful collection of porcelain hand painted buildings, people, carriages, bridges, trees and other accessories. See the chimney clean out alongside the building.
