I substituted the plastic “road” with a translucent peppermint patty road that looks SO MUCH BETTER than the original included sheet of plastic road. I also substituted one of the trees. Mining car IS INCLUDED IN THIS SET! The miner balancing on the sugar rock candy in his cart with his tools, swinging lantern hung on the side of the cart, being rolled into the mine, is such an essential detail to spark the imagination of the young and young-at-heart alike! Some of my favorite details on this piece: the curved candy cane fence leading you in to the mine, the sugar rock candy sample room, the Rock Candy Trees! – & lit mine entrance, the lit shipping department with the “worldwide delivery” signage with the lit open door and glittery snow covered walkway. The chopped wood logs stacked neatly, ready to heat the mine. SO MANY GREAT DETAILS! Remember to get a sheet of cotton gauze “snow” to set your village pieces in, and sprinkle some glittery snow around to add to the ambience too. We had ours displayed on the mantle & kitchen windowsill. Added so much to the Christmas season! I hope you & yours enjoy these pieces as much as my children and I did.
